Three Information Sessions to Help You Cross the Finish Line
Tla’amin Nation has received 14 completed applications through the Legacy Home Ownership Project, and with the June 30 deadline approaching, now is the time to get that paperwork in. If you’ve submitted your Expression of Interest, the finish line is closer than you think.
Three upcoming sessions are designed to walk you through the full application process and give you hands-on support to complete your application.
1) Application Process Overview June 15: Zoom meeting
Monday, June 15 | 5:00 — 7:00 PM Online via Zoom | Register at: housing@tn-bc.ca
This session will walk through the full application process, answer common questions, and help applicants understand what to expect before the June 30 deadline. Attendees are encouraged to come with questions.
2) Open House #1 June 16: Application Assistance
Tuesday, June 16 | 5:00 — 7:30 PM Gov House Community Room
Housing staff will help you to complete your application. 1-1 help and no appointment necessary.
3) Open House #2 June 23: Application Assistance
Tuesday, June 23 | 9:00 AM — 12:00 PM Gov House Community Room
Housing staff will help you to complete your application. 1-1 help and no appointment necessary.
What is a legacy home?
A Legacy Home is a house that meets all three of the following conditions:
- It was built before April 5, 2016 (when treaty came into effect).
- It is owned by Tla’amin Nation.
- It was given or promised to a Citizen before treaty — sometimes through written agreements, and sometimes through community practice or long-standing family understandings.
The Housing Department maintains the official Legacy Homes List based on historical records, oral history, and documentation gathered over many years. Approximately 78 homes are included.
