Tla’amin Nation 2026 Spring Clean-Up Dates are set

Tla’amin Nation is hosting the annual Spring Clean-Up at the end of the month featuring two separate collection periods depending on where you live.

Instructions: Residents are asked to drop off items at the bin at Xexehnek Road during designated timeframes. Those who are physically unable to drop items off may stack them at the foot of the driveway the night before scheduled pick up will occur.

Leaseholders: April 27–30

Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm daily

Location: Xexehnek Road (gravel parking area up near the new cemetery)

This year’s clean-up is supported by the First Nations Recycling Initiative (FNRI), a provincial program that helps First Nations communities divert recyclable materials from landfills at no cost. Through this partnership, a wide range of household items can be collected and properly recycled, from large appliances and electronics to tires, batteries, and more. This partnership results in major cost savings for Tla’amin Nation.

Accepted items include large appliances (fridges, freezers, washers, dryers, air conditioners), small appliances and power tools (batteries removed), tires (car, light truck, motorcycle, ATV, bicycle, no rims), electronics, refundable beverage containers, mixed paper and cardboard, batteries, light bulbs, thermostats, and smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Not accepted: hot water tanks, gas-powered tools, paint aerosols or insect repellents, PCB ballasts, fluorescent tubes, yard waste, regular household garbage, construction or renovation waste, broken glass, or food waste.

Please ensure all appliances and containers are clean and empty before drop-off. Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners must be kept upright.

Staff cannot enter homes to assist with removal. This event is open to Tla’amin community members only.
