Ten years of self-government, Sister Nations Day, and community priorities on the agenda

t̓išosəm, BC — Tla’amin Nation invites all ɬaʔəmen home for the Spring General Assembly, taking place May 28–30, 2026 at the Salish Centre and surrounding community spaces.
This year’s Assembly marks ten years since Tla’amin Nation implemented its treaty and assumed the responsibilities of self-government and during the Assembly Citizens are invited to reflect on our past, present and future.
- Thursday, May 28 opens with an Ancestor Reburial Ceremony at the new cemetery, followed by registration, lunch, and a community tradeshow featuring over 30 program and service tables across Housing, Health, Lands, Education, and Community Services. The evening concludes with the Tla’amin Management Services dinner, featuring business updates on TFL 39 Block 1, Thichum Forestry, Lund, Select Sand and Gravel, tiskʷat, and Paja shellfish.
- Friday, May 29 is focused on governance and accountability, with Hegus and Housepost updates, Q&A, and the Nation’s budget presentation. Afternoon breakout sessions cover the Land Use Plan, housing, harm reduction, and the Tla’amin Trust.
- Saturday, May 30 is Sister Nations Day, welcoming Homalco, K’ómoks, Klahoose, and shíshálh to Tla’amin territory. The day features a screening of təm kʷaθ nan (Namesake), pit cooking at the beach, waterfront games and cultural activities, and a community feast and Coastal Jam at Ɂəms ʔayɛ.
Select sessions will be available by Zoom. A travel subsidy is available for urban ɬaʔəmen wishing to travel home.
