Tla’amin has been meeting with government and industry partners about the Nation’s plan to reacquire tiskwat.
Recent community engagement revealed that 94% of citizens who have learned about Tla’amin’s plans for tiskwat support the re-acquisition efforts.
However, 98% of citizens are worried about the site’s environmental legacy. Environmental legacy and clean-up costs were the most cited concerns in recent community engagement. Citizens feel its unjust that Tla’amin is expected to clean up a mess they did not make.
