Time: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Place: Governance House (Council Chambers & Community Room)
Tla’amin Nation’s is inviting community members to stop in, eat together, and hear updates on some exciting work happening across our territory.
This evening event is about sharing where things are at and giving people a chance to ask questions directly to staff working on the land every day.
Staff updates on
- Forest Resource Plan
- Forest Landscape Plan
- Land Use Plan
- Desolation Sound Archaeology Project
- Parks Co-management MOU
- Toqʷanən Protected Area & MOU development
“During the last assembly we heard the message that many in our community wanted focused discussion on lands and resources,” says Lands House Post holder Callum Galligos. “There is so much happening across our territory on any given day, this session is meant to gather vital Citizen feedback on key projects and issues so that we can move forward together.”
Information Booths
Following the presentations, community members can visit booths and talk directly with the people doing the work:
- Culture & Heritage – heritage sites and cultural stewardship work
- Referrals – the types of land referrals Tla’amin is receiving and how they are reviewed
- Fisheries – kelp nursery and salmon restoration projects
- Pacific Salmon Foundation partnership – herring collaboration project
