Tla’amin Nation is inviting proposals from experienced fishers interested in leasing the Nation’s prawn and shrimp by trap (W) license for the 2026 season.
This opportunity supports both economic activity and community benefit, with a focus on employment, local access to seafood, and strong working relationships.

What we’re looking for
We are seeking a fisher or operator who can:
- Fish under Tla’amin Nation’s W license for the 2026 season
- Provide employment opportunities for Tla’amin citizens
- Submit a cash offer to lease the license (one-year term)
- Provide a domestic (FSC) allocation of 1,000 lbs at cost

Your submission should clearly outline:
- Vessel and skipper information
- Your experience and qualifications
- Key team members and roles
- Recent relevant work and references
- Your approach and timeline for the season
- Budget details, including lease offer and any associated costs
- Proposed schedule and billing terms
- WorkSafeBC clearance (required before award)
- Proof of insurance
Evaluation criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Budget and financial offer (55%)
- Experience and qualifications (20%)
- Project approach and timeline (20%)
- Completeness and understanding of requirements (5%)
