Call for Members: Tla’amin Culture Committee
The Tla’amin Nation is calling for expressions of interest from citizens who wish to join the Tla’amin Culture Committee. This advisory body plays a vital role in supporting the Culture and Language Department with guidance and advice on protocol, cultural practices, and programming.
About the Committee
The Committee’s purpose is to strengthen and reawaken Tla’amin cultural practices, promote language revitalization, and provide support for cultural events and initiatives. Committee Members work together to represent the interests and perspectives of our ancestors, families, and the broader Tla’amin community, ensuring that cultural projects align with community values and teachings.
Expectations of Members
- Actively participate in meetings, discussions, and advisory processes.
- Bring forward perspectives and teachings of our ancestors, family, and the Tla’amin community.
- Support the design and delivery of cultural projects and programs.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the principles of collective decision-making.
Membership Details
Members are appointed by the Executive Council for a two-year term and will receive honoraria for their participation.
