NOTICE OF LIVE DRAW

2025 ABORIGINAL COMMERCIAL LICENCE (ACL) ALLOCATION

Tla’amin Nation has one (1) available commercial clam licence (category Z2ACL) for Area C which will be allocated by lottery in accordance with the ACL Management Policy.

In February, Lands and Resources issued a notice to community with information to sign up for a lottery which would occur if there were available licences. Through a review of landings data from the previous year, staff identified the licence for Area C to be available for the upcoming year; and three (3) community members have indicated their interest.

DETAILS:

The ACL Draw will take place at Tla’amin Nation Governance House in the Council Chambers, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Community members are invited to witness the draw in-person, or online via our Membership Facebook page.

Following the draw, the winner’s information will be communicated to Canada’s Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) who will issue the licence for individual use.

ACL MANAGEMENT POLICY:

The Policy was established to guide a transparent process for managing the category Z2ACL commercial clam licences owned by Tla’amin Nation, which are distinct from the general commercial licences owned by some community members.
