Fall General Assembly offers a mix of social time, cultural activities, and accountability reporting
The Tla’amin Nation is excited to call all ɬaʔəmen (Tla’amin people) home for the 2025 Fall General Assembly, November 6–7, 2025. The Assembly will bring Citizens together to reflect on the past year, review the Nation’s audit, and provide direction for the year ahead.
The Assembly will open with an Ancestral Food Burning and close with a Community Feast and Baby Welcoming Ceremony two cultural practices that remind us of the strength of our ʔəms taʔow (our teachings) and the importance of honouring both ancestors and future generations.
Held in t̓išosəm with some sessions available on Zoom, the Fall Assembly is a time to engage meaningfully with government and administration, share voices and ideas, and celebrate as a Nation. Assemblies are guided by the Tla’amin Constitution. They provide the space to hear reports, set policy directions, and make recommendations by way of resolution.
This Assembly also marks a milestone in our planning and governance. We heard from over 800 Citizens through taq̓atštəm — the Tla’amin Census, and we are excited to share the results with the community for the first time.
Hegus John Hackett reflects on the purpose of this Assembly, sharing,
“Our General Assemblies are about accountability and connection. This is the time for Citizens to ask questions, to guide our direction, and to be part of the important decisions that shape our future. It is also a time to celebrate our children and families, to honour our teachings, and to strengthen our bonds as one Nation.”
Alongside these cultural practices, the Fall Assembly will feature a community trade show and health fair, the Tla’amin Management Services AGM dinner, workshops, and a leadership Q&A.
A travel subsidy is available to urban ɬaʔəmen who wish to travel home. Registration is required and is open from September 26 to October 31, 2025.
